UPMC Sports Medicine is proud to once again offer the Dr. Freddie Fu Sports Medicine Scholarship Program in 2024. The scholarship program was developed to increase student interest in a career in sports medicine. One scholarship for the amount of $2,000 will be awarded to a Pennsylvania resident entering his/her senior year of high school in September 2024 in return for a six-week summer internship (30-40 hours per week for six weeks in a row) at the UPMC Freddie Fu Sports Medicine Complex and the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex.

Participants actively enrolled in PDO activities will not be impacted by change of employer as long as the new employer is a certified child care program
Work a minimum of 25 hours per week directly in a certified child care program
For child care directors make no more than $25.00 per hour; for child care teachers, asst. teachers and aides make no more than $21.63 per hour
Be interested in pursuing coursework at a participating college toward an AA or BA degree or a CDA credential
GPA and course grades meet transfer requirements; a watch plan is developed for participants not meeting transfer requirements

UPMC Schools of Nursing Introduces Tuition Loan Forgiveness Program

UPMC Schools of Nursing are proud to help ease the financial burden of nursing school with the new UPMC Schools of Nursing Tuition Loan Forgiveness Program. Students who enroll in 2023 can receive up to $7,000 per semester in tuition forgiveness.

To qualify for Tuition Loan Forgiveness, 2023 enrollees must successfully complete their first semester, continue to meet academic requirements, and agree to a 3-year work commitment with UPMC upon graduation.

Tuition Assistance Program at Butler County Community College

Concordia Lutheran Ministries, through a partnership with Butler County Community College (BC3), is sponsoring a tuition assistance program that allows BC3 nursing students to complete their program tuition-free and provides a secure position with Concordia after graduation.

Concordia’s Tuition Assistance Program sponsorship is available to current BC3 nursing students in good academic standing or to new students who have been accepted into BC3’s nursing programs.

Practical and Registered Nursing are selective-admissions programs in BC3’s Shaffer School of Nursing and Allied Health. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements for admission.

BC3 nursing students who receive 1 year of tuition sponsorship from Concordia will be committed to work for the health care provider for 2 years. BC3 nursing students who receive 2 years of tuition sponsorship from Concordia will be committed to work for the health care provider for 3 years.

Students sponsored by the Concordia Tuition Assistance Program also have the option to work for the health care provider in casual capacities while enrolled in BC3’s nursing programs.
