Strategic Plan

The Union Area School District is a Phase II district. As such, Union was in the second phase of Pennsylvania’s comprehensive planning process.

The comprehensive planning process started with in-service training at Midwestern Intermediate Unit IV. Administrators were introduced to the process by the superintendent.

The Union Area School District plan was developed through the active participation of students, parents, community members, educational specialist, and administrators. All members of the planning committee were selected in accordance with Chapter 4 requirements.

The comprehensive planning committee met to establish a comprehensive plan to present to the school board for action. The comprehensive planning team began its work by reviewing and revising as appropriate, the district mission statement, vision, and shared values. The team analyzed our current student achievement and growth data. Through discussion and collaboration, the team identified several goals that will drive the district’s focus to improve student achievement.
