It’s not unusual to be welcomed by a police officer or by a firefighter here at Union Memorial Elementary school.  The Union Township Police officers are in our school daily helping to keep our students and staff safe and secure.  The Fire Department is located mere yards from our elementary school so our students get to see the trucks and firefighters preparing and sometimes going out for calls.  On this day, our students were given the opportunity to really get to know the police officers and firefighters as they were invited to our school to talk about their profession and give our students hands-on experience.
